Could Plus-Size Women Find Indie Looks, Too?
I was taking a look at this cool top over at Indie Style File and I started to wonder if I’ve been missing out on indie style for 14+ women. Can someone fill me in on whether or not they’ve found indie styles in larger sizes? I’d love to know whether or not I’m missing out, and where I can find some cool indie pieces in larger sizes!
If not, then there’s always accessories!

I’ve never found a lot of plus sizes (although I’ve never peeked at sizes) but I do know a lot of designers, specifically the really small etsy-out-of-their-living-room types often do custom sizing, so I’m sure they’d make their wares work for 14+ divas.

I have to get looking on Etsy, then! There’s nothing nicer than a custom shirt.

Hi Meieli - we have a great indie Toronto designer on our site (www.lolaandgigi.com) called Momo who has made some really cool pieces up to a 3 (22-24) just for us. Check it out!

I too am ALWAYS looking for cool unique plus size clothes. It is depressing at times. I personally do not want young hip skinny clothes just made larger. I wish I had the time $$ to design my own line. I have LOTS of ideas. Anway…I make jewelry…8″ bracelets…plenty of larger bold necklaces. I have had to have a skinny friend try on my peices for me to realizes..ok my neck is bigger. HAHA I can’t wear a 16″ necklace comfortably. I have had to make things smaller to include everyone.

I think shopping is depressing for everyone sometimes. Even if you can find the right size, you might not look right anyway, or you don’t have enough money, or your boyfriend doesn’t like it. . . I personally like younger silhouettes but not younger colors and prints. It depends, but the price can be better, too.
